One Woronora Heights resident or visitor has started the New Year as a newly-minted millionaire after winning division one in this week’s Monday Lotto draw – they just don’t know it yet.
The entry was the only division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3830, drawn Monday 31 December 2018. The entry took home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
The winning entry is not registered to a Players Club card so NSW Lotteries officials have no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news and have to wait until the ticketholder makes contact to claim their prize.
The winning entry was purchased at Sylvania Heights Newsagency, Shop 6, 264-272 Princes Highway, Sylvania.
Sylvania Heights Newsagency owner Carolyn Krogh said there was a buzz of excitement at the outlet.
“We’ve been asking every customer who comes in store if they’ve got any tickets they haven’t checked yet,” she explained.
“We really hope our customer realises their good fortune soon!
“What a way to end 2018 and bring in the New Year.”
Another Sylvania prize yet to be claimed
The unclaimed division one prize is one of two division one winning entries purchased in Sylvania in recent months that is yet to be claimed.
In November, a Sylvania shopper purchased a winning entry in Saturday Lotto draw 3891, on Saturday 3 November 2018, winning one of the nine division one prizes of $441,295.45.
This winning Saturday Lotto entry was purchased at Southgate Newsagency, Shop 30, Southgate Shopping Centre, Corner Princess Highway and Port Hacking Road, Sylvania.
NSW Lotteries spokesperson Lauren Cooney said Sylvania Lotto players had plenty of reasons to check their entries today.
“Winning a Lotto division one prize would have to be one of the most incredible ways to start the New Year. It would certainly change your plans for 2019!” she exclaimed.
“You may not think it’s possible that you could be one of the two division one winners we’re searching for, but if you purchased an entry in either of the draws that you haven’t checked yet, you’re in with a chance!
“We’re urging all NSW Lotteries players to check their entries as soon as possible and if you discover you are holding one of the division one winning tickets to contact NSW Lotteries on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
Ms Cooney also reminded players of the importance of registering their tickets to a Players Club card.
“It is really important that you register your entries with your up to date details so that all of your prizes are secure and we can contact you directly with the good news in the case of a win!” she explained.
In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto created 193 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3830 on Monday 31 December 2018 were 36, 16, 39, 24, 25 and 32, while the supplementary numbers were 10 and 20.
Across Australia there was only one division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3830.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3891 on Saturday 3 November 2018 were 14, 5, 36, 12, 3 and 35, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 42.
Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3891 – three from Victoria, two each from Queensland and New South Wales, and one each from the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 290 division one winning entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $302.7 million.
