Two entries – one each from New South Wales and Victoria – have shared tonight’s entire $100 million Powerball prize.

Each division one winning entry takes home a life-changing $50 million prize.

These two entries had all the seven winning numbers and the all-important Powerball number in a single game.

The wins come as up to one-in-three Australian adults had an entry in tonight’s record-breaking draw.

So far this year, including tonight’s two wins, there have been 13 Powerball division one winning entries worth $274 million across the Lott’s jurisdictions.

Tonight’s draw also saw more than 3.79 million prizes won across divisions two to nine worth more than $66.6 million. Among these winners were 15 division two winners who each take home a prize of $122,896.20.

Unregistered Sydney entry snares $50 million!

One division one winning entry purchased by a Sydney resident or visitor has snared a $50 million share of tonight’s $100 million Powerball jackpot – they just don’t know it yet.

As the entry was unregistered, the Lott officials have no way of contacting the winner to confirm the mind-blowing news and have to wait for the mystery winner to come forward to claim their prize.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart encouraged everyone who purchased an entry from a licenced lottery outlet in Sydney to check their tickets as they could be Australia’s newest multi-millionaire.

“Players can check their entry at any outlet, online at thelott.com or on the Lott app,” he explained.

“If you check your ticket and discover you are holding the winning ticket, we recommend you keep it safe and contact 131 868 to start the process of claiming your prize!”

Online entry scores second $50 million division one prize

An online entry took home the second share of $50 million in tonight’s Powerball draw.

However, the Lott officials do not have the complete contact details for this ticketholder, meaning they have not been able to break the life-changing news this evening.

“While we are unable to confirm the win with either of our winners, we can guarantee that when they discover the news, their life is set to change when their bank balance balloons by a whopping $50 million,” Mr Hart said.

“Make sure you check your entry tonight or first thing in the morning because you may not have to go to work tomorrow. Instead, you could start planning how you can play by your own rules and begin your life as a multi-millionaire.”

Everyone check your tickets

Mr Hart urged all Australians with an entry in tonight’s draw to check their tickets.

“While two entries won the coveted division one prize, more than 3.79 million other divisional prizes worth $66.6 million were won tonight. So for anyone holding a ticket in tonight’s draw, it could pay for you to check your ticket – either online, via the Lott app or in any licenced lottery outlet.”

The numbers drawn tonight in Powerball draw 1161 on Thursday 16 August 2018 were 33, 3, 32, 13, 27, 35 and 31. The all-important Powerball number was 3.

Powerball draw 1162 will offer $3 million next Thursday 23 August 2018.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 251 so far this calendar year.

Tickets can be purchased at any licensed lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via the Lott mobile app.
