While most people plan to spoil themselves with lavish gifts after a major win, a Chermside woman is looking forward to buying herself a new toilet after winning $10,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket she received as a Christmas gift.
The top prize winning $1 Christmas Gift Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at NewsExtra Chermside, Shop K21A, Westfield Chermside, Gympie Rd, Chermside.
Confirming her instant windfall with an official from The Lott this morning, the Brisbane woman explained the win made Christmas even more special.
“I received it as a gift from my family for Christmas,” she shared.
“I couldn’t believe it when I scratched it.
“I thought I must be seeing things! I probably checked the ticket 100 times.
“The next day I headed down to the newsagency to have it checked and that’s when they told me. It started to sink in then!
“I thought, ‘Oh my goodness! How wonderful is that?’.
“This win really is a great boost for me. It means a lot!
“It will help me a great deal and make a world of difference to me.
“It certainly made for a wonderful Christmas and has got me looking forward to 2021.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her windfall, the elated woman admitted she already knew exactly what she was going to do.
“It’s a great win because it means I get a few things that I have been putting off buying,” she explained.
“It might sound silly, but I would really like a new toilet!
“I would also like to do a little trip next year, so this would help pay for that too.”
