A Cooranbong woman who waited almost two weeks to check her ticket was pleasantly surprised after discovering she won $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The Nambucca River resident won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10666, drawn Thursday 1 September 2022.

The New South Wales woman’s winning entry was unregistered, so officials from The Lott had no way of contacting the ticketholder to break the news of her good fortune.

“I still can’t believe it. I’m gobsmacked,” the cheerful woman explained when an official from The Lott called to confirm the incredible news.

“I’d just finished exercising and I thought I’d pop over to the local newsagency to check my lottery tickets.

“I saw a sign that said a 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw was sold there, and I thought ‘I have a couple of those I’d been meaning to check.’

“When they scanned the first one and told me I had won $10 I was excited.

“When she scanned the second one, she took me into a private room, and we followed the next steps.

“I went home and all I could do was think about how I was going to tell my partner.

“I walked in and told him it looks like we need to go for a drive to Granville to visit The Lott head office.

“We jumped up and down together.

“It’s so lovely, and we’re so excited.

“My brother always said that no one wins the lottery, so naturally I called him to tell him the news.

“He didn’t believe me at first!”

With $100,000 about to boost her bank account balance, she said she’d save it for a rainy day and potentially enjoy a cruise.

“My partner and I have been through a lot the past 12 years. We’ve decided to put it in the bank and use it as we need it.

“We’ve been saving for a cruise for a while, so we’ll keep saving.

“It’s really going to help ease the pressure.

“You’ve made my year.”

Her winning entry was sold at Cooranbong Newsagency, Shop 7, 559 Freemans Drive, Cooranbong.

Cooranbong Newsagency owner Margaret Beletich said the team were over-the-moon to have sold their eighth major lottery prize in over 29 years.

“We had posters all over the place alongside some streamers and balloons. Lots of people have been coming in to see if they’re the lucky winner,” she said.

“We’re just so happy and super excited that our winner was someone that has supported our newsagency for a while.

“It’s amazing to be able to share such special moments with winners that truly deserve it.

“Congratulations to our winner, and best of luck with their prize.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $14.45 million for draw 1591, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $27.45 for draw 10682.

In FY22, 169 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $32.95 million.
