A Coffs Harbour man has confessed he’s still reeling from the revelation he won a $100,000 prize in a Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw from a ticket he didn’t even buy.

The stunned winner held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10884, drawn Friday 18 October 2024.

“Oh my god! I still can’t believe it!” the man cried when speaking to an official from The Lott.

“Wow! I went in to check my ticket and it came up saying I need to call The Lott. They said, ‘I think you’ve just won $100,000!’.  I said, ‘What?! No!’.

“It’s so out of the blue.

“I didn’t even pay for the ticket. I bought a Powerball ticket, and I got this free bonus ticket, and that’s what I won.

“I kept having this feeling that because I didn’t buy the ticket, you were going to tell me I haven’t actually won.

“I guess it was just meant to be.

“I’ve got a mortgage, so I’ll use some of it for that. And I’d like to get a new car – my current one isn’t crash hot.

“It’s come at just the right time.”

The winning entry of one random number was from The Plaza News Coffs, Shop 68, Park Beach Plaza, 253 Pacific Highway, Coffs Harbour.

The Plaza News Coffs owner Darren Girard said he was thrilled to have sold the outlets second 1st Prize winning entry in just four weeks.

“Wow! We can’t believe we’ve sold another 1st Prize winning Lucky Lotteries entry after our last one a couple of weeks ago,” he said.

“We appear to be on a winning streak, and we couldn’t be prouder.

“A massive congratulations to our winner and we hope you enjoy your winnings.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $2.92 million for draw 1690, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $5.96 million for draw 10886.

In FY24, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $53.4 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
