A Collinsville woman has admitted she had to pull out a magnifying glass to confirm she was correctly seeing all the winning symbols on her $100,000 winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The top prize winning $5 ticket was purchased at Nugent’s Central Newsagency, 11 Stanley Street, Collinsville.
Sharing her excitement with an official from The Lott this morning, the woman explained how her win came to be.
“I went to the newsagency and they had some Instant Scratch-Its tickets that hadn’t been opened just yet,” she explained.
“So I bought four tickets and it was the fourth ticket that was the winner!
“I checked it about four or five times. I even got the magnifying glass out to be sure.
“It was very exciting!”
With $100,000 about to hit her bank account, the regional Queenslander said a new set of wheels was at the very top of her wish list.
“I am going to buy myself a new car to begin with,” she explained.
“I’m not too sure about the rest but I know I will enjoy it throughout my retirement.”
Nugent’s Central Newsagency owner Margaret Nugent said it was exciting to see the prize go to a local and regular customer.
“This is the first top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket we have sold here,” she explained.
“It’s lovely news for us and our winning customer but also the entire community.
“Congratulations to her! We hope she really enjoys it.”
In FY21, there were 176 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $14.17 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 31.2 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $274.31 million. This equates to more than $750,000 won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
