No one ever dreams of coming tenth, unless you score a $40 million Powerball prize this Thursday and become the game’s tenth division one winner for 2020.

After three weeks of jackpotting, Powerball has reached a massive $40 million for tomorrow night’s draw.

This year, nine Aussies have become Powerball division one winners, collectively taking home more than $360 million in prize money.

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said if one person scored division one on Thursday night, they would be the only Powerball winner of 2020 to win a prize of this size.

“This week’s $40 million Powerball draw is the largest jackpot currently offered by an Australian lottery game,” she said.

“It is also only the fourth time this year that Powerball has offered a $40 million jackpot.

“However, in the three previous draws, no one took home the $40 million prize, and instead the jackpot soared higher for the following weeks’ draws.

“The last time someone scored a $40 million Powerball prize was in November last year, when a Cairns healthcare worker admitted all he could think of to celebrate the life-changing revelation was to take a shower!

“If one person scores the $40 million prize on Thursday, they too could be contemplating how to celebrate becoming a multi-millionaire.”

Ms Ramsamy said she had two tips for anyone keen for the chance to become one of Powerball’s exclusive winners.

“If you want a chance to become an overnight multi-millionaire, then you do need to purchase an entry before the draw closes, so we recommending getting in early to avoid missing out,” she explained.

“We also recommend you register your entry to a player card. If your numbers are drawn, you’ll want to know you’re a multi-millionaire as soon as possible. By registering your entry, your prize is secure, and we can contact you with the winning news straight after the draw.”

Powerball draw 1274 offering a $40 million jackpot closes on Thursday 15 October 2020 at 7:30pm AEST/ 8:30pm ADST.

Tickets can be purchased at any licensed lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The Lott’s division one winning tally across all Australian lottery games has now reached 311 so far this financial year.

The home of Australia’s Official Lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.
