Officials from the Lott had been searching for the winner since the draw as while his entry was registered to a Tatts Card, his contact details were out of date.

Speaking with an official from the Lott this morning to confirm the win, the retiree confessed he was bracing himself for the life-changing news.

“I’m at the outlet. I’m sitting down, and me and the staff here are waiting to hear what you’ve got to tell me. I’m ready for some good news!” he laughed.

“You’re joking! How amazing!

“It’s a beautiful day here in Darwin and now it’s been made even more beautiful by this news!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the thrilled winner confessed he was still bowled over by the news.

“I have no idea yet! I’m still in shock! I don’t think the news has sunk in yet!” he exclaimed.

“I’m a retired pensioner, so this win will certainly help support me in my retirement.”

The winning entry was purchased Leanyer Newsagency, Shop 18, Hibiscus Shoppingtown, Cnr Leanyer Drive and Vanderlin Drive, Leanyer.

“It was amazing to be able to break the news to the winner and see his shocked but happy face.

“We are so thrilled we have found our mystery winner, and he has been united with this prize.
