A Davoren Park dad’s longstanding dream to build a new home for his family will become a reality in 2025 thanks to his $4.8 million prize in last night’s Set for Life draw.
The South Australian held the only division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 3437 on Thursday 2 January 2025. He won a total prize of $4.8 million, paid in monthly instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.
“It’s life-changing!” the man declared when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“I’ve got a young family, and this will help us build a house. I’ve always wanted to build a nice family home for us.
“It just means the world to my family and will really set us up for the future.
“I’m a bit tired today as I didn’t sleep much last night.
“I’m a regular Set for Life player, and I check my ticket after each night’s draw.
“I’ve had a few little wins recently and then the big one last night.
“I looked at my ticket last night, saw I had the numbers and showed my wife, but she was saying, ‘no we didn’t, no we didn’t’.
“All night we were literally going, ‘no we didn’t, no we didn’t’.
“It’s unbelievable!”
The man’s winning 2-game QuickPick entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 3437 on Thursday 2 January 2025 were 1, 14, 32, 43, 16, 36 and 34, while the supplementary numbers were 2 and 12.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 3437 – the entry from South Australia.
This marks the 148 Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the 18 Set for Life division one winner so far this financial year.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 236 so far in FY25, including 22 won by SA Lotteries customers.
In FY24, there were 12 Set for Life division one winners across Australia who will receive $57.6 million during the next 20 years.
By 30 June 2024, more than $131.48 million in monthly payments of $20,000 had been paid to the 130 Set for Life division one winners across Australia.
