A Deer Park woman initially thought she’d won $750 on her Instant Scratch-Its ticket but was pleasantly surprised to discover she actually scratched a life-enhancing $100,000 top prize.
The top prize winning $5 Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Sunshine Marketplace Lotto, Kiosk 1, Sunshine Marketplace, 80 Harvester Road, Sunshine.
Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the Victorian resident relayed the exciting moment she discovered her win.
“One of my friends gave me a $2 Instant Scratch-Its ticket and I won $50 on it,” she shared.
“I thought I’d give it another go and grab more Instant Scratch-Its tickets with the prize. I sat down for lunch at the shopping centre and scratched the ticket. I was in shock!
“Initially, I thought I’d won $750, and I was super excited.
“I went straight to the newsagency to claim the prize and the team member said I’d won over $4,000, and I had to go to the head office to claim it.
“I didn’t see the extra letters come up, and I was so confused! I thought maybe I’d won $10,000.
“When I went to The Lott head office, they told me I’d won $100,000. I thought, ‘Is this a dream? Is this serious?’.
“This is the biggest win I’ve ever had. I’m still in shock.”
While the prize offers potential for a new car or a holiday, the Melburnian said she was too mind-boggled to make any concrete plans.
“I’m still trying to process the win at this stage, but I know it will be put to good use!” she shared.
