An Alstonville man has taken a trip down memory lane after winning a Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize for the second time in just over a year, this time taking home $200,000.

The northern New South Wales resident won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1586, drawn Tuesday 16 August 2022.

The winning entry was unregistered, which meant officials from The Lott couldn’t reach out to the winner to reveal the news and had to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

In May 2021, the merry man celebrated his $100,000 Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot win with a trip down to the doctors to receive his COVID-19 vaccination.

Confirming his latest win with an official from The Lott this morning, the regular player admitted he was still in disbelief at scoring another major prize.

“I was in a little bit of shock!” he laughed.

“Never in a million years would I have thought this day would come around again.

“To a certain degree, I would believe I’m lucky, but I’d hope to one day win the Jackpot Prize!

“When I won a bit over a year ago, I went on a vacation to Brisbane as travel restrictions were limited. I also bought a brand-new television, paid off some bills, and took some time off work.

“I found out that I’d won the 1st Prize last Wednesday, but I’ve taken some time to claim it. I said to myself, ‘I’m not going to rush it this time’.

“I’ll celebrate with some friends when we go on holiday together!”

His winning entry was purchased at Alstonville Newsagency, Shop 2, 79-83 Main Street, Alstonville.

Alstonville Newsagency owner Ray Smith said he was over the moon when he heard his team had sold another 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries.

“This is wonderful news for our community! We’ve put up signage and balloons all through our outlet, and our staff are very excited,” he said.

“Our store has sold eight major lottery wins, ranging from Monday & Wednesday Lotto, Saturday Lotto, Lucky Lotteries Super and Mega Jackpot, and Powerball.

“It’s a great feeling to see the happiness it brings to our winners, and we look forward to many more great outcomes.

“Congratulations to the winner! We can’t wait to share their jubilation with them. All the very best!”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $13.97 million for draw 1589, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $24.98 million for draw 10663.

In FY22, 169 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $32.95 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
