A Dandenong man has picked up more than bags of groceries after scratching a $10,000 top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket at the local supermarket.
The top prize-winning $1 Bamboo Bucks Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Palm Plaza Lotto, Shop 1, Kiosk 10, Dandenong Plaza Shopping Centre, 46 McCrea Street, Dandenong.
Speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the victorious Victorian said he was surprised by the instant windfall and couldn’t wait to spoil his wife with the prize.
“I was in shock, and I still am!” he relayed.
“I purchased three $1 Instant Scratch-Its tickets when I was out shopping on Saturday, and the first two didn’t win a prize. I thought I wasn’t going to win anything!
“I went to scratch the final $1 ticket that I had, and a prize of $10,000 came up. I was very surprised!
“It’s the most I’ve ever won, and it’s a great feeling!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, he said he couldn’t wait to treat his wife to a new piece of jewellery.
“I’d like to buy something for my wife – maybe some jewellery to make her happy!” he shared.
“It’s a nice moment, and we’ve celebrated together over the weekend!
“How exciting!”
Palm Plaza Lotto owner Sineth Sareth said the top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket has created an awesome buzz in the community.
“It’s wonderful news, and we’re so happy for the local family who has taken home $10,000!” she said.
“The wife had come in with her son earlier this week to check the winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket and she had a big smile on her face.
“Once I confirmed the win with her, she called her husband straight away. It made my day!
“Palm Plaza Lotto has been open for more than 20 years, and since I’ve taken over the store six years ago, we’ve had 38 division one wins.
