Lottery officials are on the hunt for the owner of a $2.5 million winning Saturday Gold Lotto ticket from the weekend’s draw. The winning ticket could potentially be an unchecked Father's Day gift just waiting to deliver an incredible surprise.

The mystery player held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto, draw 4499, drawn Saturday 31 August 2024. Each entry scored $2.5 million.

The winning entry is unregistered which means officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the ticketholder and instead must wait for them to check their ticket and come forward.

The division one winning entry was purchased at The Store on Eagle, Ground Floor, Shop 2 Central Plaza Two, Brisbane.

The Store on Eagle owner Kristina Carson said she couldn’t believe she had sold her first division one winning entry just before transferring ownership of the shop after 20 years.

“When I first found out we had sold a division one winning ticket, I was stopped in my tracks. After nearly 20 years of owning the shop, this is our first division one win!” she said.

“The fact that it happened on our last day before handing over to the new owners is just wild. We’ve gone out with a bang and it’s incredibly rewarding to know we’ve changed someone’s life.

“We wish the mystery winner all the best and we’re just filled with joy to have been part of their story! We hope they check their ticket soon and start the exciting prize claim process!”

The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell said she was eager to unite the mystery Brisbane player with their multi-million-dollar win.

“Someone could be unknowingly walking around today without realising they’ve become a newly-minted multi-millionaire after landing an exhilarating $2.5 million win in Saturday Gold Lotto!” she said.

“It's possible that someone might have gifted their dad a Gold Lotto ticket for Father’s Day, which has yet to be checked, or perhaps a city worker who passed by hasn’t had the chance to check their ticket.

“Regardless, we’re urging anyone who purchased a Saturday Gold Lotto ticket from The Store on Eagle to check their tickets today!

“If you discover you’re holding a winning entry, call The Lott on 131 868 to start the prize claim process!”
