Lottery officials are calling on Wollongong locals and visitors to check their Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot tickets after a mystery player scored $100,000 in this morning's draw but is yet to discover their win.
The mystery Illawarra player held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10871, drawn Monday 2 September 2024, and looks forward to a total prize of $100,000.
The $100,000 win comes after a Wollongong father scored $1 million in last Wednesday’s Weekday Windfall draw, making it the second major lottery win to land in the region in the last two weeks.
However, as the winning entry is not registered to a player card, officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the ticketholder and must wait for them to check their ticket and come forward.
The 1st Prize winning entry was purchased at Keira Street Newsagency, Shop 6, 175 Keira Street, Wollongong.
The Keira Street Newsagency team shared they hoped to unite a local player with their prize soon and urged all customers to check their tickets.
The Lott spokesperson Eliza Wregg said she was urging anyone who purchased a Lucky Lotteries ticket from Keira Street Newsagency to check their ticket today!
“Our elusive winner is likely oblivious to the fact they’ve won $100,000 in the today’s Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw,” she said.
“Imagine if the ticket stashed in your glove box, tucked in your purse, or by your bedside table is worth $100,000!
“Make sure you check your tickets, Wollongong, and if you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the prize claim process.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $2.20 million for draw 1687, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $4.01 for draw 10871.
In FY24, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $53.4 million.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
