A Gold Coast woman has discovered that winning a major lottery prize can come with unexpected side effects after her $4.8 million Set for Life win left her feeling light-headed.
The Queenslander held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 3281, drawn Tuesday 30 July 2024. She looks forward to monthly instalments of $20,000 for the next 20 years.
“Oh my god!” she laughed when speaking to an official from The Lott this morning.
“Are you joking? What a surprise!
“I’m Set for Life! I’m feeling dizzy – I need to sit down.
“I can’t believe it. Thank you for this amazing news!
“This is the only ticket that I purchase on repeat, and I’ve always said to my dad that I’d transfer half of the money to him every month if I’d won to help him out. I’ll be doing exactly that with the prize!
“I can’t wait to give my family a call and let them know.
“They’ll be so happy.
“Thank you so much for the amazing news.”
Her winning 2-game QuickPick was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
