It was a winning weekend for Tasmanian TattsLotto players with two entries from the Apple Isle scoring division one prizes.

The two entries were among the seven division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3943 on Saturday 4 May 2019. Each division one winning entry takes home a division one prize of $573,863.51.

Kingston friends celebrate division one win

Six Kingston friends are planning a celebration after discovering they held a division one winning entry in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

In addition to winning division one prize of $573,863.51, the long-running syndicate’s marked System 7 entry also won division three 6 times, bolstering its total win to $579,988.91.

The syndicate purchased its winning marked System 7 entry at Nextra Channel Newsworld, Shop 29, Channel Court Shopping Centre, Channel Highway, Kingston.

It’s the second time in less than three months that Nextra Channel Newsworld has sold a division one winning entry.

Speaking with a Tatts official this morning to confirm the prize, the ecstatic Kingston syndicate leader explained how she discovered the winning news.

“I was up early on Sunday morning, so I decided to check Lotto on the computer. We’ve had this syndicate of six people going for years.

“I was so surprised when I saw we had all six numbers in a row. I had to wake my husband up. I wanted to call the others in the syndicate, but my husband said we should wait until they’re up.

“So we drove around to all of them in the morning to surprise them with the news. They’re all very surprised and happy!

“We’re all hard workers, so it will make life a little bit easier. We’ve all got mortgages and things like that.”

The syndicate leader shared she had almost stopped organising the syndicate but then she had a dream they’d won.

“There have been a few times when I thought I wouldn’t keep running the syndicate,” she shared.

“But about 12 months ago, I had a dream that we’d won, and in the dream, I said ‘lucky we didn’t give up’. The next day I was telling one of the members and they said ‘don’t give up, don’t give up’, and the dream came true!”

Nextra Channel Newsworld owner Mike Ditcham said he was stunned to see another division one win in his outlet so soon.

“It’s the second time in three months, so we’re really excited,” he said.

“It’s just so unusual to have that many in that space of time. All I can think of is someone up there is smiling on us.

“We’ve been spreading the word of the wins, and people are talking about it.

“We wish our winners all the very best with their prize!”

Kings Meadows couple “trying to stay calm” over division one win

A Kings Meadows couple confessed they checked their ticket a hundred times or more before they finally believed they had won division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

As their entry was unregistered, Tatts officials had no way to contact the ticketholder with the dream-come-true news they had won $573,863.51.

However, this afternoon the couple came forward to claim their prize.

“Oh my god,” the winning husband exclaimed.

“I bought two TattsLotto tickets on the weekend – one for me, and one for my wife.

“We checked our tickets yesterday, and my wife just started screaming. I thought she had four numbers or something. All of a sudden, there’s six winning numbers in a row.

“We went over that ticket about a hundred times or more. It’s just unbelievable.”

The couple shared they had already begun planning how they’d use their TattsLotto windfall.

“We’ll probably do some home renovations, look at buying an investment property and also do some travel as well,” he said.

“At the moment though, we’re trying to stay as calm as possible.”

Their winning entry was purchased at Meadow Mews News & Lotto, Shop 16, Meadow Mews Shopping Centre, 102-106 Hobart Road, Kings Meadows.

Meadow Mews News & Lotto owners Jeff and Viv Dolbey said they were excited to have helped someone win division one.

“It’s always exciting to see one of our customers win division one,” Jeff said.

“Meadow Mews sold its last division one winning entry in December 2017. This will be our 21st division one win between our two stores – Meadow Mews News & Lotto and Kings Meadows News & Lotto.”

In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3943 on Saturday 4 May 2019 were 23, 8, 27, 7, 33 and 24, while the supplementary numbers were 41 and 15.

Across Australia, there were seven division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 3943, two each from Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia, and one from New South Wales.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 123 so far this calendar year, including 58 won by Tatts customers.

In the 12 months to 31 December 2018, there were 280 division one winning TattsLotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $306.19 million.
