A North Sydney dad thought he was teetering on the brink of ‘madness’ after he double-checked his Saturday Lotto ticket and discovered he won $1.2 million.
The regular player held one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4433, drawn Saturday 13 January 2024 and looks forward to a total division one prize of $1,260,010.08.
The New South Welshman revealed a wave of spontaneity came over him on Saturday morning when he decided to purchase his ticket on a whim.
“I’m in shock! It’s so surreal!” he laughed.
“I put on my normal favourites on one line of the ticket and then the rest of the games were at random. I always put on my favourite numbers because they’re important to me.
“I didn’t expect for this to become a reality.
“I decided to check it on Saturday night while I was hopping into bed and the $1.2 million win came up. I gave it multiple checks to make sure I wasn’t going crazy.
“I even called my wife who is currently overseas, and I said to her, ‘I think I’m going crazy’.
“I never expected for this to happen to me.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his future as a newly made millionaire, the winning man shared the prize would ‘help make life easier’ for him and his family.
“I really need to sit down and think about what to do with the prize, but I know some of it will go to life necessities such as bills,” he said.
“Thank you so much.”
His winning marked 50-game entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4433 on 13 January 2024 were 41, 33, 40, 39, 8 and 37, while the supplementary numbers were 35 and 2.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4433 – three in New South Wales and one in Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 220 so far in FY24, including 76 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
