Christmas has come early for a Dubbo man after he gave himself an Instant Scratch-Its ticket worth $100,000 just in time for the silly season.
The top prize winning $5 Christmas Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Newsextra on Macquarie, 117 Macquarie Street, Dubbo.
Confirming his instant windfall with an official from The Lott this morning, the New South Wales player explained he was suddenly feeling extra festive.
“I can’t believe it,” he laughed.
“I bought the ticket for myself and I got the right one!
“I scratched it then and there, and couldn’t believe that I’d won $100,000.
“It’s certainly the most ideal time of the year to win a prize like this!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his $100,000 prize, the man said he’d decide once it’s in his bank account.
“It’s a bit hard to get my head around it at the moment,” he said.
“I think I will have to see it to believe it!
“It will certainly take the pressure off and I’ll enjoy every cent of it!”
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 151 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $11.8 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 29.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $235.25 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
