Edgeworth may be bracing for some rain in the week ahead, but for one resident it will be raining in cash as well, after scoring a long-awaited $100,000 Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize.

The New South Wales man took home the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10471, drawn Thursday 17 June. He scored $100,000.

Straight after the draw an official from The Lott called the jolly winner, who was going about his day working in the shed and was completely caught off guard by the thrilling news.

“You’re kidding! Wow!” he yelled with happiness.

“What did I win? I can’t believe it.

“I’ve been playing lottery for the last 60 years, every week. The exact same numbers too!

“I’ve never given up. I knew a win would eventually come my way.

“I don’t know how to comprehend this. My wife is listening in.

“That’s great!”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, the retiree said he was lost for words and couldn’t make any concrete plans.

“I’m honestly really not sure. I can’t think right now,” he said.

“Thankfully, we’ve paid off all our bills after working hard all these years, so we can actually enjoy it.

“I’m sure we will spend it on something nice.

“We just bought a house actually. Maybe, we will spend it elsewhere.

“Thank you!”

The winning entry was purchased at Cameron Park Newsagency, Shop 4 Cameron Park Plaza, 309 George Booth Drive, Cameron Park.

Cameron Park Newsagency owner Yan Zhang said he was over the moon for the winner and hoped they take the time to enjoy their win.

“That’s fantastic news! We’re always as happy as can be to sell a winning entry!” they said.

“It really puts a smile on all of our faces when we sell a 1st Prize winning entry. It makes the job truly worthwhile.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1.48 million for draw 1537, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $6.48 million for draw 10472.

In 2020, 141 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $48.61 million.

During this time, the biggest Lucky Lotteries prize was won by an Ermington woman who a Mega Jackpot prize of $11.73 million in January.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won.
