A Barmera uncle and nephew duo are feeling on top of the world after scoring $200,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.

The South Australian pair scored the 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1664, drawn Wednesday 24 April 2024.

Their winning entry was unregistered meaning the two men had no idea of their new fortune until late last week when they checked their tickets.

“Haha! Woohoo, that’s amazing!” the winning nephew cheered.

“We can’t believe it. We’re a private syndicate and we’ve been playing for over eight years!

“It’s just the two of us – my uncle and I. We’re over the moon.

“We only check our tickets every eight weeks or so, so we had no idea we were holding an entry worth $200,000 for almost three weeks.

“It’s funny because we heard in the paper that they were looking for a winner and I actually said, ‘I wonder if that’s us!’.

“I think this calls for a family holiday!”

The winning entry of one random number was purchased from Monash Club, 16 Madison Road, Monash.

Monash Club President Darrel Hayes said it was fantastic the venue had helped create a local winner.

“The team and I are thrilled we were able to sell a major winning ticket!” he said.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating with our customers.

“Congratulations to the fortunate winners and we wish you all the best with your prize and your future!”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $19 million for draw 1672, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $1.41 million for draw 10851.

In 2023, 117 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $20.6 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2023, more than 122.7 million wins took home more than $3.76 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday X Lotto, Weekday Windfall, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.
