If you see someone smiling from ear to ear today, it could be a factory worker from Emerton who landed a division one prize in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The man held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 3869 on 18 August 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $622,806.56.
Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official this morning, the happy winner confessed he discovered the life-changing news yesterday morning.
“It’s still sinking in. I checked my ticket yesterday and it was a surprise!” he said.
“I’m a regular player and I just hope for the best. This has blown us all away! It’s all surreal.
“I’m going to have a smile from ear to ear all week!”
The ecstatic winner said he and his wife had already started contemplating how they would use their Saturday Lotto win.
“My wife has already started a list of what we want to do with it. We won’t be living the high life, just doing what we need,” he said.
“I need to get some new tyres for my car – just to pretty it up a bit!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 24-game QuickPick entry at Emerton Newsagency, Shop 10, Emerton Shopping Village, Cnr Bunting Street and Jersey Road, Emerton.
Emerton Newsagency owner Mamdouh Roffaell said he was thrilled his outlet had sold another division one winning entry.
The outlet last sold a division one winning entry in November last year, delivering another customer a Saturday Lotto prize worth more than $658,000.
“It’s exciting to see another one!” he said.
“We’re telling all our customers we’ve had another win in store and we can’t wait for the next one!”
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 115 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3869 on Saturday 18 August 2018 were 37, 17, 19, 38, 6 and 26, while the supplementary numbers were 2 and 10.
Across Australia there were seven division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3869 – four from New South Wales, two from Victoria and one from South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 259 so far this calendar year, including 66 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
Last financial year, there were 290 division one winning Saturday Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $302.7 million.
