An Endeavour Hills shopper is heading into the weekend $25,000 richer after scratching one of the top prizes on a $2 Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Endeavour Lotto & News, Shop 53/54, Endeavour Hills Shopping Centre, Corner Matthew Flinders Avenue and Heatherton Road, Endeavour Hills.
How the happy winner plans to enjoy their $25,000 instant windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
Endeavour Lotto & News owner Usharani Vinu said she was excited to hear her outlet had sold its first Instant Scratch-Its top prize.
“This is our first ever top prize since we took over the shop in November 2017,” she explained.
“We’ve had a couple of second division wins but we’ve been waiting for a division one or top prize!
“We plan to tell all of our customers that we sold a top prize winning entry and one of our customers is celebrating winning $25,000.
“We hope our regular Instant Scratch-Its players are as happy as we are!
“Congratulations to our winner! We are so happy for them!”
The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said that while we may never know how this winner plans to enjoy their windfall we are certain scratching the win is a moment they’ll never forget.
“There is no doubt that instantly scoring $25,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket would be a life-changing moment!” she exclaimed.
“Other winners have told us that in that moment they often can’t believe their eyes and it usually takes a moment or two to sink in.
“Once it has sunk in our winners tell us they often use their windfall to travel on overseas holidays, buy new cars or do some renovations around their homes.
“However our winner plans to enjoy their prize we are sure they will never forget the moment they discovered they were a top prize winner!”
In 2018, there were 155 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $14.26 million.
