An Engadine man has answered a once-in-a-lifetime phone call revealing his $200,000 windfall and according to him, it’s come at the perfect time.
The Southern Sydney player won the 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1543, drawn Monday 6 September 2021.
Sharing his joy with an official from The Lott this morning, the winner confessed the prize would make his life somewhat easier.
“Oh my god! Are you kidding?” he questioned.
“I had absolutely no idea. I never check my ticket.
“This has come at such a good time! It’s been quite challenging for everyone this year.
“I purchase an entry into Lucky Lotteries once a week, hoping for the best.
“I’m shaking. This is the best news ever.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the stoked bloke said he was too mind-boggled to make any concrete plans.
“I’m not too sure what I’ll do with the prize at this stage. I’m too shocked to think,” he revealed.
“Thankfully, I’m not working today. I can take the time to celebrate!
“Thank you so much.”
The happy winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry of two consecutive numbers at Heathcote Newsagency, 1347 Princes Highway, Heathcote.
Heathcote Newsagency team member Jackson Rogan said everyone is overjoyed for the winner.
“It’s pretty great! Just knowing we’ve helped someone is an amazing feeling,” he said.
“We hope to sell more winning entries and help out more people. Only three weeks ago, we sold a major winning entry in Wednesday Lotto. Maybe it’s the start to a winning streak?
“It hasn’t happened in 10 years and now it’s happening in four weeks!
“Congratulations to the winner. We’re glad they won the 1st Prize. Good on them and well done!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $3.16 million for draw 1544, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $2.32 million for draw 10489.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, 136 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $46.09 million.
During this time, the biggest Lucky Lotteries prize was won by a Coolangatta man who a Mega Jackpot prize of $9.41 million in May 2021.
