A couple from the town of Esk had their Sunday flipped on its head by the revelation they scored more than $820,000 in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Queenslanders held one of the eight division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4615 on Saturday 11 October 2025. Each division one winning entry pocketed $820,141.42.
The couple were oblivious to their good fortune until an official from The Lott contacted them.
“You’re kidding!?” the winning woman exclaimed when the enormity of their win was revealed.
“This can’t be true.
“I’ve been playing those numbers for at least 15 years. The family helped pick them – birthdates and other special numbers.
“I just finished watering and then the phone started ringing. I’m sitting on the edge of the bed. I can’t believe it.
“You don’t know what this means to us.
“There’s always things that come up, helping family and others, but this means we can finally have a nest egg for our future retirement.
“I’d normally have a coffee at this time in the morning, but I might have a wine instead!
“It’s unbelievable!”
The couple’s winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Cressbrook News, 95 Cressbrook Street, Toogoolawah.
Cressbrook News owner Jason Weare said it was his outlet’s first division one win since he took over ownership two years ago.
“We’re very excited to hear one of our customers has won big!” he said.
“A very big congratulations, and I hope this win brings you and your family security and helps make your dreams come true.”
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4615 on 11 October 2025 were 43, 21, 37, 33, 32 and 9, while the supplementary numbers were 17 and 30.
