As the division one winning entry was not registered to a Tatts card, Tatts officials had no way of contacting the winner with the dream-come-true news and had to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

“Whether it’s family or friends, almost every TattsLotto player has a list of people that they can’t wait to share their windfall with,” she said.

“While some winners help their family members with house deposits, others take their friends on overseas holidays.

“While we don’t know how our winner plans to spend their prize, what we do know is that with their bank account about to balloon by more than $408,000, our Essendon winner can look forward to planning exactly how they will spend their division one prize.”

Ms Ramsamy also reminded players of the importance of registering their entry to a Tatts card.

“It is really important that you register your entries to a Tatts card and keep your details up to date so we can contact you directly with the good news in the case of a win!”
