Social distancing won’t stop a Robina man from celebrating his $100,000 Instant Scratch-Its win, with a FaceTime date booked in with his family to break the exciting news.

His $100,000 windfall is one of the top prizes on a $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket, which he purchased at newsXpress Robina Town Centre, Shop T4276, Ground Floor Market Hall, Robina.

Confirming his win with an official from the Lott this morning, the overwhelmed Gold Coast winner recounted the thrilling moment he scratched the prize.

“Last week I bought a coffee from a gentleman who was closing his business and with the change I decided to buy a couple of scratchies,” he explained.

“I won a little prize on the scratchies so I got the young man behind the counter to pick me another one.

“He chose a $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket and what a fantastic choice he made!

“I scratched it then and there and won $100,000!

“It was unbelievable.

“Someone must have been watching over me. I felt as though it was my turn to be blessed.

“It was overwhelming! It was sensational.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his instant windfall, the loving dad said it was the perfect nest egg for now.

“It is a hard time at the moment so I will sit tight for a little while and really think about it,” he said.

“Certainly once everything calms down and when the time is right I will book a holiday and go away!

“And I’ll be able to help our children!

“We will FaceTime them tonight to break the news and celebrate!”

newsXpress Robina Town Centre owner Karen Randall said the latest win continues the store’s winning streak.

“It’s so lovely to have this good news at the moment,” she said.

“We feel so happy and privileged to be serving our community during these uncertain times and it’s amazing to be able to deliver this win to one of our customers.

“Congratulations to our winner! It was thrilling to have them instore while they discovered their win.

“We hope to continue spreading the positive vibes during this tough time.”

In 2019, there were 114 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $9.61 million in top prizes.

During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 27.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $208.8 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
