Lottery officials are urgently seeking the Mawson Lakes resident or visitor who purchased a $1 million-winning Monday & Wednesday X Lotto ticket nearly a year ago with the deadline to claim the prize fast approaching this Friday.

The mystery winner may have no idea they’ve been holding onto a life-changing ticket for nearly 12 months. Despite repeated callouts, no one has come forward, and now there are just days left before the prize is forfeited.

The elusive player held one of the two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 4325 on Wednesday 27 September 2023.

Since the ticket was unregistered, The Lott cannot contact the winner directly, leaving them to come forward to claim their prize before the close of business day, Friday 27 September 2024 – when the prize will be forfeited to the Lotteries Commission of South Australia.

In South Australia, lottery prizes must be collected within 12 months after the draw date. Once 12 months has passed, the unclaimed money is forfeited to the Lotteries Commission of South Australia, which has a prize claim process and associated administration costs.

From Monday 20 May 2024, Monday & Wednesday X Lotto changed to a single lottery game called Weekday Windfall across Australia (excluding WA).

The division one winning entry was purchased at BP Mawson Lakes, 603-615 Salisbury Highway, Mawson Lakes.

The Lott spokesperson Khat McIntyre said time was ticking for the mystery player to come forward to claim their million-dollar prize and urged all players to check their tickets as soon as possible.

“We are just days away from the Friday deadline, and our mystery millionaire is still out there. South Australian lottery winners have only 12 months to claim their prize, and time is quickly running out,” she said.

“It’s hard to believe, but our mystery winner may have been completely unaware they’ve been sitting on $1 million for nearly a year.

“If you purchased a Monday & Wednesday X Lotto ticket at BP Mawson Lakes, now is the time to check it! You don’t want to miss out on such a life-changing opportunity.

“This also serves as an important reminder to register your tickets. If this ticket had been registered, we would have already united the winner with their $1 million prize.

“Make sure you check your bedside table, your handbag, your car glovebox or any other hiding spots you may have an old ticket because the winner could be you and you could be planning what to do with your prize!

“If you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”
