A Forest Lake couple has started their morning crying tears of joy after they discovered they were newly minted millionaires thanks to last night’s Gold Lotto draw.
The Queensland residents held one of the three division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4112, drawn Monday 13 September 2021. Each division one entry won $1 million.
When an official from The Lott contacted the winning couple this morning, the happy husband said he couldn’t quite believe the life-changing news.
“It’s staggering! I can’t believe it,” the stoked bloke laughed.
“While I was having breakfast, I thought I’d check the results. I was left speechless.
“I ran to my wife to show her the news. We’ve been shedding tears all morning.
“The numbers are a combination of birthdays and random other dates. I don’t always play the same numbers, but I guess last night was the right night to play them!
“I can’t wait to tell my daughter, who is at work right now. I can’t phone her at this stage. It will be hard for me to concentrate at work today.
“This is hard to take in. Life-changing!”
When asked how he thought the family might enjoy their million-dollar prize, the father explained it would go towards paying off the mortgage and a long-overdue holiday.
“I think I’ll treat my wife and I to a nice holiday, somewhere we haven’t been before. A trip to Uluru would be nice,” he shared.
“An obvious one is to pay off the house. We have house renovations to do. We’ve always put our own house last.”
The happy couple, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning marked 12-game entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4112 on Monday 13 September 2021 were 33, 15, 22, 24, 18, 14, while the supplementary numbers were 31 and 16.
