Almost two weeks after the draw, a Jimboomba couple have finally come forward as the region’s latest mystery division one winner, sharing they had no idea until yesterday that they had scored a $580,000 Saturday Gold Lotto prize.

The dynamic duo held one of the 17 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4537, drawn Saturday 11 January 2025. Each division one winning entry scored $588,235.30.

If the pair had been part of The Lott Members Club and registered their ticket to a player card or online account, they would have been alerted to their newfound treasure right after the draw.

“Thank you so much!” the happy husband cheered while speaking to an official from The Lott.

“It’s such a big help. I can’t believe it.

“We didn’t check it right away because every time we’d go to the shops, we’d forget our ticket in the car.

“Finally, we remembered yesterday and that’s when we realised we had won division one.

“My daughter started jumping up and down and my wife was just shaking. She’s still shaking this morning!

“I couldn’t even eat dinner last night. We’re so excited and it’s a huge help.

“It’s going to set us up and we’re even thinking we’ll go on a holiday next year.

“Funnily enough, I almost didn’t get the ticket. I bought it just before the outlet closed. I don’t play every week but usually every fortnight, and my wife kept reminding me to go get it, and luckily, I did!”

The winning entry was purchased at Freechoice Flagstone, Shop 6B Flagstone Village Shopping Centre, 1-21 Bushman Drive, Jimboomba.

Freechoice Flagstone owner Michael Bicknell said it was an amazing feeling to have sold a division one winning entry within the small community.

“As a local family who has been operating within the small community for the last 20 years, we feel incredibly grateful to see this support and glad we’re able to give back to our customers,” he said.

“We’ve decorated the store with posters and balloons, and we can’t wait to hang our commemorative plaque to notify all our customers about the win.

“Our customers have been so excited to hear that their outlet sold a division one winning entry worth more than $580,000!

“We’ve been operating for four and a half years, and within that time, we’ve sold a few divisions two winning entries, but this is our first division one.

"Congratulations to the fortunate winner and we wish you all the best with your prize!”
