A Burpengary retiree has confessed her brain has gone fuzzy after discovering her second-ever lottery ticket scored her a $1 million prize.

The Queensland resident held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4648, drawn Wednesday 7 January 2026. Each division one winning entry bagged $1 million.

As the winning ticket wasn’t registered to The Lott Members Club, officials couldn’t contact the fortunate grandma and had to wait for her to check her ticket and come forward.

“I can’t believe it! It’s wonderful,” she said.

“It’s only our second ticket we’ve bought! I won $14 on Tuesday, so I just got another ticket.

“I don’t even know what to say or think right now. My brain is all muddled up.

“My husband checked it at home this morning. He said, ‘We’ve just won a million dollars’. I said, ‘You’re being stupid!’. Then we headed down to the newsagency, and when they confirmed it, it was just like, holy moly!.

“It’ll be a life-changer. We’ve got some not-so-nice things going on with family who are unwell. Now we’ll be able to visit and support them more.

“We’re retired. I’ve got children and grandchildren and even great-grandchildren. You have no idea how amazing this is.

“Thank you so much!”

Her winning entry was purchased from Burpengary Central News, Shop 2  Burpengary Central Shopping Centre, 164-166 Station Road, Burpengary.

Burpengary Central News owner Prakash Balia said he was excited his latest division one winner had discovered their prize.

“This is our first division one winner since we took over the business at the end of 2017,” he said.

“We are very happy and excited, and hope this is the first of more to come for the new year.

“To our winner, enjoy your new-found fortune!”

The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4648 on Wednesday 7 January 2026 were 26, 1, 18, 28, 13 and 30, while the supplementary numbers were 2 and 44.
