While deep cleaning her house, a mum from Orange unearthed a pile of forgotten lottery tickets and discovered she’d been sitting on a winning Lucky Lotteries ticket worth $100,000 for over a year.

The New South Wales winner held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10874, drawn Friday 13 September 2024 and takes home $100,000.

As the winning entry was not registered to The Lott Members Club, lottery officials had no way of contacting the winner and had to wait for her to check her ticket and come forward.

While most major prize winners come forward within a week or two after the draw date, the Central Tablelands resident took approximately 405 days to come forward.

The overjoyed winner shared her disbelief over her newfound treasure when speaking to an official from The Lott.

“Oh, my goodness! I need to take a seat.” she screamed.

“I’m absolutely beside myself right now.

“I was just doing a big house clean when I found a pile of old lottery tickets.

“I’ve been having the most horrible week, and this is just the best news.

“I can’t believe it. We came into the newsagent today to confirm the win and now we’re sitting in a private room out the back.

“And now you’re telling me I won a major lottery prize from over one year ago!”

With $100,000 soon to boost her bank account, the elated winner shared the prize would be the perfect nest egg.

“The prize couldn’t have come at a better time,” she said.

“It’s the perfect nest egg and will allow me to enjoy life more.”

The winning entry was purchased from at Greengate Newsagency Orange West CPA, 6 Prince Street, Orange.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $15.04 million for draw 1728, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $1.15 million for draw 11045.

In FY25, 182 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot Prize winning entries across Australia won more than $20.5 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
