A Grafton man was left in complete shock after discovering he had unknowingly been sitting on a Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot ticket worth $100,000 for nearly a week.
The Northern Rivers resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11008, drawn Friday 20 June 2025. He can look forward to a life-enhancing $100,000.
The unsuspecting winner initially missed phone calls from lottery officials and only discovered his windfall after receiving a letter from The Lott prompting him to check his tickets.
“Thank you so much!” he said.
“I only check my tickets now and then and I must have missed your calls, so I had no idea about this until I received a letter in the mail from The Lott telling me to my tickets.
“I had two tickets. I checked the first one and it was nothing, then I scanned the next one and it said $100,000!
“I couldn’t believe it! I was a bit apprehensive at first but now I know it’s the real deal, I’m stoked.
“I’ve even taken a photo of my ticket because I’ve been worried that I’ll lose it.”
When asked how he planned to use his newfound treasure, the winning man shared the prize would boost his retirement plans and help his family.
“Honestly, it’s still sinking in!” he said.
“It’ll certainly help with retirement, and I’ll be able to help my children.
“It’s amazing!”
He purchased his winning entry of one random number at Infinity News & Gifts Grafton, Shop 11, Grafton Mall, Cnr King and Pound Street, Grafton.
Infinity News & Gifts Grafton owner Robert Blinman said he was thrilled to hear his outlet had sold a 1st Prize winning ticket worth $100,000.
“We were a little shocked at first, but also so pleased to have played a part in changing someone’s life,” he said.
“We’ve been sharing the good news with our customers and celebrating the win.
“This is our first major prize sale, but just a couple of months ago, we sold a division two winning Set for Life ticket.
“It’s such an uplifting feeling to know we’ve sold a 1st Prize winning ticket and that it might change someone’s life.
“We only bought the store four months ago, so we’re incredibly excited. We hope to sell more winning tickets in the future and continue making a difference in people’s lives.
“Congratulations to the fortunate winner! We’re so happy for you and hope this win brings lots of joy.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $6.76 million for draw 1706, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $22.6 million for draw 11015.
In 2024, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $52.2 million.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
