A Caboolture woman is looking forward to retirement after her train journey took a fortunate turn, leading her to a $100,000 winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The Queenslanders winning $5 Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at TSG & Lotto Caboolture, Shop 1, Cnr Matthew Terrace & James Street, Caboolture.
The happy woman shared she was over the moon about her win but had remained cool, calm and collected upon discovery.
“Thank you! I feel guilty because I’ve been so calm,” she laughed.
“It’s still surreal. Even the newsagency team member was so happy for me, and I was just super calm.
“I bought the ticket the other day while on the way to an event.
“We had to catch some trains, and I said if we have time on the way, we can pop into the newsagency.
“Just as well we had time. It was meant to be.
“That was the first day of 50-cent train fares so that was already nice as well.”
When asked how she planned to use her newfound treasure, the gleeful woman shared she planned to spend it wisely.
“I don’t want to rush into anything,” she said.
“I’m sort of easing into retirement at the moment, so it’ll just be here as a nice safety net.”
TSG & Lotto Caboolture manager Henry said he and the team were thrilled about the winning news.
“I was very surprised and happy when I heard that we’d sold a top prize!” he said.
“I’m over the moon for the winning customer and hope this will change her life in the best way possible.

“In the past ten years of operation, we have sold various grand prizes but it had been a few years since our last one so we were due for one.
“This store has been through many hard times over the past year, and now it is back to being great again! It's a new beginning!”
