A Heathcote father and daughter are kicking off their weekend festivities early after discovering their 20-year-old tradition yielded them a wondrous $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The southern Sydney duo held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10866, drawn Friday 9 August 2024 and pocketed a total prize of $100,000.

The stunned duo happened to be standing next to each other when they received the winning phone call from lottery officials, turning it into a memorable moment they’ll never forget.

“That’s beautiful!” the winning daughter cheered when an official from The Lott confirmed their win.

“Dad and I have been playing Lucky Lotteries together for years now.

“At this point, we just love the ritual of going and buying the ticket together.

“How much did you say again? Wow! One hundred thousand dollars!

“My Dad is over the moon at the news. He has had to sit down to compose himself.

“This is great news to get on a Friday! We’re going to have the best weekend celebrating.”

Their winning entry of two random numbers was purchased at Engadine Newsagency, Lot 1, 1047-1049 Old Princes Highway, Engadine.

Engadine Newsagency manager Diana Coombes shared the whole team was thrilled and happy to hear that a 1st Prize winning entry was purchased at their outlet.

“Our customers are going to be over the moon to hear that a local customer has won,” she said.

“We wish our winner all the best and hope they enjoy their winnings.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1.72 million for draw 1685, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now over $3.49 million for draw 10867.

In 2023, 117 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $20.6 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.
