A Bathurst couple have come forward to claim their $20 million Oz Lotto prize three days after the draw, after having a ‘funny feeling’ they were holding the winning multi-million dollar ticket.

The New South Wales couple held the only division one winning entry nationally in Oz Lotto draw 1302, drawn Tuesday 29 January 2019, taking home the entire division one prize pool of $20 million.

Confirming their win with a NSW Lotteries official this morning, the man revealed how they discovered their incredible fortune last night.

“My wife actually bought the ticket and I mentioned to her a couple of times during the day yesterday if she had checked it and she kept telling me she hadn’t,” he explained.

“Last night I said to her ‘go get that ticket, I’ve got a really funny feeling about it.’

“So she went and got the ticket and we checked our numbers online and sure enough, my gut instinct was right!

“We couldn’t believe it. We were in total disbelief.

“We read over the numbers more than five times to be sure but I still didn’t think it could be right.

“We needed this phone call to officially confirm the news but I still can’t believe it.”

The couple revealed they had been playing Oz Lotto for years but had never imagined how they might spend $20 million, should it ever land their way.

“It’s really difficult to imagine,” he laughed.

“But our first priority will be to help our family.

“Then we will pay all our bills and think about retiring early and making some exciting plans.”

The $20 million winning Oz Lotto ticket was purchased at News on William, 80 William Street, Bathurst.

News on William owner Adrian Smith said they were so happy to hear the prize had been claimed.

“Bathurst has been buzzing with excitement!” he exclaimed.

“All the staff at the outlet have been holding their breath as they check Oz Lotto tickets, wondering if they’re about to break the incredible news to one of our customers.

“We’re so glad they’ve realised their good fortune and have claimed their prize.

“We wish them all the very best!”

In 2018, there were 20 division one winning Oz Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $253.7 million.

During this time the biggest Oz Lotto jackpot was $70 million on 7 August 2018, which was won by two division one winning entries that took home $35 million each.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1302 on Tuesday 29 January 2019 were 22, 38, 27, 26, 35, 4, and 19 while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 36.

Across Australia there was only one division one winning entry in Oz Lotto draw 1302, in New South Wales.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 221 so far this financial year, including 66 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
