A Nanango man has been left dumbfounded and lost for words after scratching his way to an Instant Scratch-Its top prize win worth $150,000.
The South Burnett region resident’s winning $10 Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Nanango Newsagency, 64 Drayton Street, Nanango.
The overjoyed winner couldn't contain his excitement, rushing to celebrate his newfound treasure by whisking his wife away for a spontaneous celebratory lunch.
“Geez whiz! I’m still struggling to find my words,” he said when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“I’ve been lost for words ever since I scratched the ticket.
“I kept checking over the ticket to see make sure I wasn’t making a mistake.
“I keep scratching my head. It’s still so hard to believe this is all real.
“I’ve always enjoyed playing Instant Scratch-Its tickets. I usually treat myself to one a week to enjoy over coffee.
“I’m going to go surprise my wife with a nice lunch out now that the win is confirmed.
“It’s going to help us in so many ways. Thank you.”
Nanango Newsagency owner Alison Warren shared she was excited to hear her outlet had sold a top prize-winning ticket and made a positive difference in one of her customer’s lives.
“How exciting! We keep telling our customers that we feel due for another big win,” she said.
“We’ll be happily sharing this wonderful news and reminding our customers that dreams can come true.
“We’ve celebrated several major lottery wins over the years and it’s nice to see our commemorative plaque wall continue to grow.
“We wish our winner all the very best, and hope that this win will make their life a little easier and bring them happiness. We also want to thank them for supporting our outlet.”
