A generous Fitzgibbon man has admitted he can’t wait to spoil his loved ones after discovering he scored more than $1 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The North Brisbane player held one of the five division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4423 on Saturday 9 December 2023 and took home a total prize of $1,060,416.37.
“I’ve been waiting for your call!” the gleeful man exclaimed when an official from The Lott confirmed his prize.
“I checked my tickets on the app right after the draw and I couldn’t believe my eyes.
“My wife was falling asleep and I said to her, ‘Quick, sit up’.
“She was like, ‘What’s going on?’. Then I told her, ‘We just won division one!’.
“We honestly thought we were in a dream. I couldn’t sleep at all.”
When asked how the winning man planned to use his newfound lottery loot, he revealed his priority was to look after his family.
“We’re going to send a couple of family members on an overseas holiday and buy a car for another one,” he said.
“Then, we’ll book an appointment with an accountant and talk over a few important things.
“Thank you so much.”
His winning marked System 9 entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4423 on 9 December 2023 were 11, 44, 9, 25 and 32, while the supplementary numbers were 2 and 20.
Across Australia, there were five division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4423 – three in Victoria and one each in Queensland and Western Australia.
