A Zillmere woman has decided to pay her good fortune forward after receiving an unexpected $250,000 windfall on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket, by surprising her sister with a new car.
The $10 Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased from Dayboro Valley IGA, 1 Heathwood Street, Dayboro.
The Queensland resident told officials from The Lott that her winning discovery had been delayed after simply forgetting to scratch the tickets.
“It’s full on! I’m still struggling to wrap my head around it!” she exclaimed.
“I bought them to scratch with my adult son, but then they sat in my car for two days.
“When we scratched them, we both looked at each other in complete shock.
“I rang my sister and said, ‘Is this real?’
“She laughed and said ‘You’re the one looking at it! You tell me.’
“I actually bought her a car with part of the winnings. I’m so happy for her! Now she can drop her kids to school.
“For myself, I’ve already been on a nice holiday! It was like heaven. Then the rest, I’ll put in the bank.
“I couldn’t sleep at all the night I found out. I started looking at other winners and their stories to pass the time.
“Thank you so much!”
Dayboro Valley IGA team manager said they were over the moon for their winning customer and wished her all the best with her prize.
