A Hamilton dad is celebrating more than just Father’s Day this week after scoring $1 million in last night’s Weekday Windfall draw.
The Newcastle resident held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4596, drawn Monday 8 September 2025 and can look forward to a $1 million prize.
When an official from The Lott called with the revelation, the jubilant man shared he’d just finished school drop-off.
“Holy f**! That’s awesome! I’m getting cold shivers,” he laughed.
“You’ve got a great job. Oh my gosh. Far out. This will help us immensely.
“I just dropped the kids off to school. I’m glad they’re not in the car because they would’ve already been spending it.
“My wife and I have been looking to do something nice, and we’ve been thinking about an overseas family holiday. That’ll be a definite now!
“This is amazing. We’ll get the kids some nice presents for sure. They’ve all been working hard.
“We can pay off the school fees and pay the mortgage. It just allows you to do so much instead of working your guts out!
“It’s great news for the newsagency too. They’re a great bunch of people.
“It really will make a great difference. We’ll be able to help out the community too, and just be more generous.
“Thank you very much. Now I’ve got to ring the wife and head to work!”
His marked winning System 7 entry was purchased at Beaumont Street Newsagency, 132 Beaumont Street, Hamilton.
Beaumont Street Newsagency owner Robert Burton said he and the team were thrilled to sell a Weekday Windfall division one winning entry.
“It’s great news. We’re all very excited and pleased it’s gone to a deserving customer,” he said.
“We’ve sold plenty of division one and major prizes over the years. I still remember our first one was 17 years ago, which went to a lovely lady who could fix her house with it.
“We’ve put signs and balloons up and we’ll be telling all our customers the exciting news. They always get a buzz out of it too.
“Congratulations to the winner and we wish you all the best with your prize.”
The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4596 on Monday 8 September 2025 were 16, 7, 25, 12, 21, 42, while the supplementary numbers were 20 and 32.
Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Weekday Windfall draw 4596 – one each in Queensland and New South Wales.
