A Gold Coast man says he’ll be spending the week deciding exactly how to enjoy his million-dollar windfall after discovering the life-changing news on Saturday night.
The Queensland player held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4029 on Saturday 29 February 2020. Each division one winning entry takes home a prize of $1,095,232.37.
Confirming his win with an official from the Lott this afternoon, the man said he was still in a state of shock.
“Thank you very much,” he laughed.
“This is sensational!
“I checked my ticket on Saturday night. I couldn’t believe it.
“I’ve been marking my entries with the same numbers for a very long time so I had just been waiting and waiting for them to appear and on Saturday night they finally did!
“I’m still in shock. This is completely life changing.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his good fortune, the Gold Coast player said he’d be spending the week working it out.
“I really want to think about it and make some plans,” he explained.
“At the moment I’m still too overwhelmed to think straight.
“I have children and grandchildren and I will certainly be sharing it with them!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
In 2019, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Gold Lotto created 203 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4029 on Saturday 29 February 2020 were 12, 29, 3, 30, 38 and 31, while the supplementary numbers were 22 and 45.
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4029 – two each from Victoria and Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 256 so far this financial year, including 67 won by Golden Casket customers.
