A couple from the Goolwa region has begun planning a long-awaited trip to New Zealand – the first of many holidays the couple plan to take using their Saturday X Lotto division one windfall.
The couple held one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 3895, drawn on Saturday 17 November 2018. Each entry took home a division one prize of $456,752.50.
Speaking to an SA Lotteries official this morning to confirm their win, the ecstatic pair recounted the moment they discovered they were division one winners.
“I got a congratulations email, but it didn’t say how much,” the husband explained.
“So I went to the kitchen and checked the ticket online and it brought up this ridiculously large prize. I thought it was a scam.
“I said to my wife ‘settle down, don’t get too excited’, just in case it wasn’t real. But it is and it’s fantastic.”
“It’s magnificent! My heart is racing,” the wife shared.
“I’ve got tears running down my face. It’s so lovely to hear from you, I never thought I’d get a call like this!”
Despite having only learnt of their good fortune, the couple said they already had some ideas of how they would use their Saturday X Lotto windfall.
“We want to go to New Zealand,” the woman declared.
“I’ve wanted to do that for years but for one reason or another, we never got there. Now there’s no excuses.”
The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning marked 36-game entry at Goolwa Pharmacy, Shop 10-12, Goolwa Shopping Centre, 33 Hutchinson Street, Goolwa.
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday X Lotto and Saturday X Lotto have created 159 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 3895 on Saturday 17 November 2018 were 26, 19, 31, 30, 6 and 18, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 16.
Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 3895, including two from South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 150 so far this financial year, including 11 won by SA Lotteries customers.
In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 290 division one winning Saturday X Lotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $302.7 million.
