A Karama man is feeling grateful after nearly passing on a TattsLotto ticket in the weekend’s draw, only to win a life-changing $1.6 million making his dream of owning a home a beautiful reality.

The Territorian held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4555, drawn Saturday 15 March 2025 and looks forward to a total prize of $1,695,309.35.

“Thank you! Thank you so much!” he laughed when an official from The Lott confirmed his windfall this morning.

“I couldn’t sleep all weekend! I woke up at 2am because all I could think about was the phone call I was going to receive from you. I was too excited!

“I had parked outside the local supermarket on Saturday, waiting for TSG Karama to open. I was debating whether I should stick around a little longer to buy a ticket.

“I am feeling incredibly grateful for waiting around and purchasing the ticket. If I had just drove off, maybe I would’ve never won $1.6 million!

“It wasn’t until Sunday when I went to another newsagency to scan my ticket that they told me that I had won division one.

“The ticket had come up as ‘locked’ and the team members referred me to The Lott. I was speechless.

“I phoned my daughter straight away, and she immediately burst into tears. She cried and cried.”

With a million-dollar fortune about to transform his 2025 plans, the cheerful dad shared his plans for the prize, starting with a brand-new home to call his own.

“I’ll be buying a house in Darwin, and then maybe one in Perth too,” he exclaimed.

“I’ll then look to pay my daughters university fees.

“I’m very blessed. Thank you!”

The winning man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his 25-game QuickPick at TSG Karama, Shop 17, Karama Shopping Centre, Kalymnos Drive, Karama.

TSG Karama store manager Carly Aldridge said her team were feeling very excited to have sold a division one winning entry worth $1.6 million.

“It’s absolutely mind-blowing! We’re very excited to have sold a division one winning entry to a local customer. The last time we sold a major lottery ticket was in June 2013 worth $570,000.

“We hope this life-changing prize will be the start of a winning streak for TSG Karama. We can imagine many of our customers will be trying their luck hoping to pick up the next big win.

“The girls at TSG Karama wish our winner all the very best. We’re so very happy for you. Come in one day and let us know all the beautiful things you end up doing with your prize.”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4555 on 15 March 2025 were 3, 27, 30, 15, 16 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 19 and 33.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 338 so far in FY25, including 125 won by Tatts customers.

In 2024, TattsLotto created 149 millionaires across Australia.
