A Gympie man has revealed he’s been basking in a ‘special’ kind of feeling since unwrapping a $100,000 top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket over the holiday break.
The overjoyed Queenslander’s winning $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at NewsXpress Gympie, 47 Mary Street, Gympie.
“I’m feeling pretty good, mate!” he exclaimed when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“It’s actually unreal to experience the winning feeling. It makes you feel very special.
“Funnily enough, I received the winning ticket as a gift from family during Christmas. I couldn’t believe that out of all the gifted tickets, mine was a winner.
“I had to double, and triple check the ticket. I thought I might’ve been seeing things.”
When asked what $100,000 would mean for him, the down-to-earth winner shared he wanted to focus on giving his family a bright future.
“I’m trying my best to stay grounded and not go making any wish lists,” he said.
“For us, it’ll go towards our bills and giving our children the best start at life.”
