A Happy Valley retiree has started his week on a high after his four-decade-long strategy scored him $1 million in last night’s Weekday Windfall draw.

The Adelaide resident held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday windfall draw 4527, drawn Monday 31 March 2025 and pocketed a dazzling $1 million.

The winning man was still buzzing with excitement when an official from The Lott called to confirm his million-dollar bounty this morning.

“I’m very good today!” he laughed.

“It’s amazing, but I’m still a bit stunned. It’ll sink in slowly.

“I have an interesting way of playing. I always look at the previous weeks draw results, and I always choose different numbers to what was drawn.

“I’ve been playing Lotto for 30 or 40 years now. I once got five numbers, but I’ve never gotten division one.

“When I was marking off my numbers last night, I was quite happy to get four, then I kept checking and discovered I had all six! I was shocked.

“I’ve told some mates and family members and everyone’s very excited for me. We’re going to go out to lunch when we can.”

When asked how he planned to use his newfound treasure, the gleeful retire had already been dreaming of all the possibilities.

“I’m retired so it’s going to be a real help,” he said.

“I need to do some work on the house, so there’s that. I could even buy a new car, and I’m thinking I’ll take a holiday to Queensland.

“There’s certainly lots I could do!”

His winning entry was purchased from Happy Valley Newsagency, Shops 4 & 5 / Happy Valley Shopping Centre, 100 Kenihans Road, Happy Valley.

Happy Valley Newsagency owner Mehul Modi shared they were thrilled to sell a division one winning entry.

“It’s such an exciting feeling to know that we played a part in the someone’s division one win,” they said.

“We’ll be sharing the great news with our customers and letting everyone know through our social media.

“Monday seems to be our lucky day! The last time we sold a division one winning entry was around three years ago and again, it was a Monday.

Congratulations to our winner! Spend it wisely and thank you for supporting your local newsagency!”

The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4527 on Monday 31 March 2025 were 18, 6, 34, 24, 43 and 38, while the supplementary numbers were 13 and 16.

Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Weekday Windfall draw 4527 – the entry from South Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 355 so far in FY25, including 38 won by SA Lotteries customers.

In 2024, Weekday Windfall (formerly Monday & Wednesday Lotto) created 102 millionaires across Australia.

During this time, there were 105 division one winning Weekday Windfall (formerly Monday & Wednesday Lotto) entries across Australia, which collectively won $105 million.
