A Hawthorn East couple have declared they’re ‘knocking off from work early’ and ‘breaking their diet’ to celebrate winning $200,000 in today’s Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The Melbourne couple won the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1212, drawn Monday 4 February 2019.
As well as winning the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000, the couple’s 10-consecutive number entry also won an additional $1,000 in consolation prizes, bolstering their total prize to $201,000.
When a Tatts official called to breaking the exciting news, the happy pair were in a state of complete shock.
“No way! Really?” the husband laughed.
“Holy moly! That is awesome!
“That is so cool! How fantastic is that?
“That is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my whole life.
“I never thought I would win. I am ecstatic with that!”
Wanting to share his excitement with someone, the thrilled man told his wife the news straight away.
“She has her hand over her mouth,” he explained.
“Now she’s jumping up and down. She can’t believe it!
“We are stoked! Thank you so much for this.
“I was just at work but I think I am going to knock off early to celebrate.
“We will definitely celebrate. We have been very strict with our eating lately because we are on diets, but this is definitely worth breaking the diet for!”
When asked how the couple planned to spend the prize, the hardworking husband said he had plenty of plans.
“A bit will go towards school fees and the mortgage,” he exclaimed.
“We have a couple of holidays planned, so this will help.
“My wife just said we will be getting a swimming pool – she would love that!”
The winners, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry of ten consecutive numbers online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $40.12 million for draw 1214 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $3.10 million for draw 10270.
