A Henley Beach local man has admitted he felt numb today when he found out he was $150,000 richer from winning a Keno Spot 9 prize of $150,000 in draw 2393089 on Tuesday 24 July 2018.

The winning entry was purchased at Fulham Target Pharmacy Lotto, Shop 6, Target Shopping Centre, 447 Tapleys Hill Road, Fulham Gardens, South Australia.

Two days after the draw, the happy man checked his ticket and discovered he was suddenly $150,000 richer.

“It took a long while to sink in, it was a huge shock at first,” he said when speaking with an SA Lotteries official this afternoon.

“I was certainly happy, but I didn’t really believe it at first.

“I was numb, completely numb when I found out. It was great.

“It is very, very, good. I am a lot richer than I was yesterday, so that makes me happy.

“I am a regular Keno player, but I never really thought I would win.

“I usually only win $10 or $20, so this is certainly the most I have ever won.

“Hopefully my luck has well and truly changed. Who knows, I might win again!”

When asked how he planned to spend his Spot 9 prize, the ecstatic winner said he would wait until the money was in his bank account before he made any decisions.

“At this stage, I don’t really know what I will do with the money,” he admitted.

“I want to wait until I get a hold of the money before I make any plans. I will be very excited when that happens!

“Once I have the money, I will sit down and plan and make sure I use the money wisely.

“I will help my family out a little bit, of course, and we will go out for a nice dinner and some drinks to celebrate.”

Fulham Target Pharmacy Lotto staff member Mim Loprete said she was thrilled to have sold a Keno Spot 9 winning entry.

“It’s fantastic to know we’ve helped change someone’s life – $150,000 is a lot of money!” she said.

“It’s pretty exciting to think I could have sold the winning ticket!”

Last financial year, there were 19 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who landed more than $4.52 million. Spot 10 was won twice during this time – a prize of more than $2.017 million in December 2017 and a prize of more than $1.474 million in April 2018.

Keno is a game whereby 20 numbers are randomly generated from a possible 80. To win a Keno Spot 9 prize, a player must match all nine of the numbers selected on their ticket against the 20 numbers drawn.
