A Hervey Bay woman is eager to trade in the sunshine for Tasmania’s crisp air after landing a million-dollar win in last night’s Weekday Windfall draw.
The southern Queenslander held the only division one winning entry nationally in Weekday Windfall draw 4429, drawn Wednesday 14 August 2024 and pocketed $1 million.
So far in 2024, there have been six division one winning entries in the Wide Bay-Burnett region collectively taking home more than $6.93 million in prize money.
The seasonal player received the surprise of a lifetime this morning when she received multiple notifications from lottery officials urging her to check her Weekday Windfall ticket.
“Oh my! I can’t contain this!” she cheered.
“I’ve always wanted to win division one, but I never expected it to happen to me.
“My husband got an email this morning about a major win, but it didn’t say the prize amount. I ran straight to the newsagency and on the way, I missed a couple of calls.
“Now you’re telling me that I’ve won one million dollars. I can’t believe it!
“I used to play Monday and Wednesday, but when an extra day was added to the game, I decided to switch my days up!
“I always said that if I’d won division one, I would tell absolutely no one, but it’s too hard to contain!
“I’d love to go back home and visit Tasmania. I’ve definitely been itching for a holiday!
“Oh dear. I think I need a glass of bubbly to celebrate!”
Her winning 15-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Nextra Fraser Gateway Newsagency, Shop 22-23 Stockland Shopping Centre, 6 Central Avenue.

The winning numbers in Weekday Windfall draw 4429 on Wednesday 14 August 2024 were 39, 8, 41, 23, 9 and 4, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 29.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Weekday Windfall draw 4429 – one in Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 265 so far in 2024, including 68 won by Golden Casket customers.
