A Hobart couple has breathed a sigh of relief about their $775,000 TattsLotto division one win after initially suspecting someone was playing a prank on them.
The Tasmanian duo held one of the seven division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4351, drawn Saturday 1 April 2023 and took home a total division one prize of $775,265.76.
This morning, an official from The Lott reached out to the winning man, who was driving and completely oblivious to scoring his newfound fortune.
“I’ve received the shock of my life!” he laughed.
“I’m here with my father-in-law, and we thought someone was playing a prank on us.
“This entry was drawn on April Fool’s Day too!
“I couldn’t check my entry when you first called because I was driving.
“Wow, but now that I’ve checked my entry, I can’t believe it!
“I’ve been playing for a long time now. I always play the same entry over and over.
“This feels awesome!”
With more than $775,000 about to land into their bank account, the happy husband shared it would help them fulfil many delightful dreams.
“We’ve got a house mortgage, so we’ll look to pay that off,” he exclaimed.
“We might book another holiday, and buy a new boat!
“This calls for a celebration tonight!”
The dynamic duo’s marked 50-game entry was purchased online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4351 on 1 April 2023 were 10, 39, 36, 25, 45, and 5, while the supplementary numbers were 40 and 8.
