A Withcott man is getting ready to swap his work boots for thongs at a seaside escape after pocketing $100,000 in yesterday’s Lucky Lotteries draw.

The Lockyer Valley resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10961, drawn Wednesday 16 April 2025. He looks forward to a total prize of $100,000.

When an official from The Lott called to confirm his win, the hardworking man revealed he could barely believe he was a major prize winner and shared he would be celebrating the milestone for months to come.

“It’s wonderful! I didn’t think I’d ever win the big one!” he said.

“I saw a story about a local fella winning Lucky Lotteries recently, and so I thought I’d give it a whirl myself.

“I’m so happy to be one of those winners.

“I’m going to remember this call for a very long time.

“I’ve already got a bottle of red wine cracked open to celebrate the win. I think we’ll be celebrating this one for a while.”

With a $100,000 boost heading his way, the winning man shared that he was ready to dust off his passport and escape to somewhere warm.

“It’s certainly going to come in handy!” he said.

“Once the money hits our bank account, I reckon a holiday could be on the cards. Somewhere warm and with a beach could be nice.

“We haven’t gone on a holiday in quite some time, so I think I’ll have to go find my passport first.”

His winning entry of seven random numbers was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $5.56 million for draw 1701, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $15.84 million for draw 10962.

In 2024, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $52.2 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2024, more than 195.3 million winners took home more than $4.84 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Gold Lotto, Weekday WindfallPowerballOz LottoSet for LifeLucky LotteriesKeno (SA)Super 66Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.8 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
