A man from New South Wales who is currently road-tripping around Australia has come forward to claim Darwin’s division one TattsLotto prize.
The thrilled winner holds one of the nine division one winning entries across Australia in TattsLotto draw 3865 on Saturday 4 August 2018. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $444,985.88.
As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the New South Welshman also won division three 6 times and division six 4 times bolstering his total prize to $452,426.88.
The win kicks off a record-breaking week in Australian lottery with two jackpots worth a collective $150 million up for grabs in the coming days. Tomorrow’s Oz Lotto has a massive $70 million up for grabs, while Thursday’s Powerball is offering a mind-blowing $80 million.
When speaking with a Tatts official this afternoon to claim his prize, the winner explained how he came to purchase an entry in Darwin.
“Wow! That’s a lot of money!” he exclaimed.
“I’m actually up in Darwin at the moment on holidays. I’m heading home to New South Wales via South Australia and across Victoria.
“I’m on a bit of a road trip, so this might help me to extend my trip a bit!
“I really haven’t thought too much about what I will do with the money. It’s certainly giving me a bit of a buzz.”
The winner also revealed he was prompted to check his ticket after picking up the local paper.
“I went to the newsagency to pick up the local paper and in the paper I saw the TattsLotto results,” he explained.
“I saw them there and thought ‘hang on, there is something strange about those numbers, a couple of these look familiar’ because I mark my numbers when I play.
“They aren’t really any special numbers but I’m sure they will be my lucky numbers now!”
When asked how he planned to celebrate the winner revealed he had some ideas.
“I think I might grab a few beers and go from there!”
The winning entry was purchased at Parap Newsagency, 42 Parap Road, Parap.
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto have created 113 millionaires across Australia.
The six winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 3865 on Saturday 4 August 2018 were 25, 38, 24, 35, 12 and 14. The supplementary numbers were 36 and 39.
Across Australia there were nine division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 3865 – five from Victoria, two from Queensland, and one each from New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 240 so far this calendar year, including 101 won by Tatts customers.
Last financial year, there were 290 division one winning TattsLotto entries across the Lott’s jurisdictions, which collectively won more than $341.27 million.
